So what happened to jonreed.net?

Here's where we are
JonReed.net as we knew it for the last ten years is no more. Eventually there will be a more detailed explanation of this situation, and after that, someday, a reboot. Thanks to all of you who believed in an "old school" Internet site, advertising free, that tried to publish meaningful work without compromise.
Further update: I've added some links on the left hand side, including my site Free From Corporate America and my new JonReed.net blog hosted on blogger. If you're looking for my SAP market analysis site, that's JonERP.com. There is also an "archive" link which will take you to my older "rantblog" and that's where the "bad ads" and "mocking ads" links lead you to also. Alas, that's only a fraction of the content that was on the site, but I'm glad to have the links here as a way of retaining some of the spirit of the jonreed.net enterprise.
If you're looking for some of the long-form music journalism on jonreed.net, that's not in the archives. All of that content is in a proprietary format and I'm going to need a lot of savvy development help to get that back online. Unfortunately the web host, XO Communications, has pulled the plug on the structure that supported jonreed.net. They are of course indifferent to the value of the content that went offline along with it. Ironically, the commercialization of the Internet, one of the topics I railed about on jonreed.net, was ultimately part of its undoing. Jonreed.net was clearly out of place in the Facebook era, but then again that makes me even more determined to raise this site out of the coding ashes someday.....someday. I'm reminded of one of my favorite jonreed.net sayings - the spirit of resistance is what matters; the form that resistances takes must continue to change. Thanks for reading my content all these years.
